5:00 - 8:00 pm: Limbo Loco Steel Drum Band
Limbo Loco is a portable island party waiting to happen. This Sharon, Vermont based group of polished and dedicated Caribbean Steel Drummers play a mix of intricate dance tunes, saucy calypsos and socas. They interweave those great Caribbean harmonies with an infectious tropical island beat that calls the toes to tap and the hips to move.
The mainstay of the band's repertoire is of the island variety but ranges from easy going calypsos like Jamaica Farewell and Yellow Bird, spicier socas and numbers like Hot Hot Hot and Oye Como Va, party tunes like Margaritaville, and all out turbo powered competition arrangements from Trinidad's "Panorama festival."
Limbo Loco's members have been delighting crowds for the past four Summers at events such as The Green Mountain Chew Chew Food & Music Festival, The Tunbridge Worlds Fair, the Strolling of the Heifers Parade in Brattleboro, Rutland's Ethnic Festival, the Quechee Balloon Festival, Northern Lights Lake Champlain Supper Cruises and a host of other summer concerts, weddings, barbecues and parties.
Limbo Loco Steel Drum Band's music speaks to everyone across the wide spectrum of age and musical taste and takes you to a place where the cares of the world melt away into visions of white sand, turquoise blue water, swaying palm trees and having FUN!

99.9 The Buzz Presents The Chew Chew Buzzarroo
The Buzz presents three of New England's most popular young rock and roll bands, two from Vermont and one from Boston, in the first-ever Chew Chew Buzzarroo, a mini rock fest within a food fest. These three up and coming bands regularly pack houses from Maine to New York and all points in between and we are excited to showcase them at this year's Green Mountain Chew Chew Food & Music Festival for the first time.
The Chew Chew Buzzarroo is produced by Kate Dubenetsky from Starksboro, a recent graduate of Mount Abe. Kate has been producing music events at school and the teen center in Bristol for about two years and is entering Champlain College in the Fall majoring in Communications.
4:00 - 6:00 pm: Silent Mind
Dark Bill Messick of New Artist Radio claims, "This music is good, very refreshing with a spirit of it's own and a sound that will melt into your ears with a crisp cool blend you will love." Silent Mind is Jamie Bright, Guitar/Vocals, Bob Hoar, Bass/Vocals and Jay Baskowski on Drums. A Collage Rock Trio for partying, singing along, letting go and rocking out! Don't miss the energetic sounds of SILENT MIND, opening the Buzzarroo at the Chew Chew.

6:30 - 8:30 pm: Sucka Brown
What other folks say about Sucka Brown:
Boston Magazine, Geoff Gagnon-May 2007 Issue
No disrespect to frontman Brendan Hall and his bandmates, but with a radio-ready dance-rock sound, Sucka Brown invites comparisons: The best of its funky stuff evokes the Red Hot Chili Peppers channeling 311; the best of its rock calls to mind Third Eye Blind. Hall's voice is full of fun inflection, and most of the tracks are polished and hooky gems. Oh, and if the shrieks of swooning local ladies (read: certain Boston magazine staffers) are any indication, Hall's stage show is definitely worth catching as well.
BandoftheDay.com, May 2, 2007
I think I have a new favourite band name. Sucka Brown sounds so damn funky, which is great considering their music is just as funky, if not moreso. Their new album, "What Elephant?" is still pretty fresh too, so check it out before it becomes rotten. And by rotten I mean fifty million times platinum.
The Boston Globe
It's hard not to enjoy this group's energetic live set and trend setting dance rock.

9:00 - 10:45 pm: Close to Nowhere
Close To Nowhere is a band of plain clothed gypsies from Burlington. In their own words, "We play guitar-driven, harmony-driven rock and roll. We like to write music with rippin' guitar leads, melodic vocal harmonies and solid beats. We've been playing in and around the Burlington area since 2003. We are working hard to develop our shows and in the end our music and performances will speak for themselves. Music can be happy, sad, angry and harmonious. It is a celebration of all the things around us in the world, good and bad. When we come to play a show, there ain't no half-steppin. We want to have a good time and want everyone that comes to our shows to have a good time too!"
Close to Nowhere is Rich on rhythm guitar and vocals, Mark on lead guitar and vocals, Spike on bass and vocals and Dave on drums.

1:00 & 3:00 pm: Wagtail
Immersed in the joy of northern New England's rich musical traditions, Vermont's WAGTAIL fuses the well-loved sounds of fiddle, guitar and mandolin with percussion and fine vocals, bringing to the stage a blend of old time jamming, Celtic melodies, American song-styles and world beat rhythms. With original writing as their foundation, WAGTAIL offers a fresh approach to traditional music that's fun, funky and deeply moving.
Susannah Blachly is a fiddler, tunesmith & singer/songwriter from Marshfield. She draws on a diverse mix of musical traditions and has been praised for her distinctive musical voice that is at once contemporary and warmly evocative. She has released two CDs of all original material and twice ranked on the Top Ten Best VT CDs of the Year in Seven Days, VT's premier arts weekly.
George White lives in an old farmhouse in the hills of Tunbridge VT, and that's where his inspirational guitar, octave mandolin and vocal parts for WAGTAIL first find voice. George is responsible for much of the unique Celtic groove, rock rhythms and raw passion that shapes the WAGTAIL sound.
Kristina Stykos was born with a guitar in her hands, and brings a decidedly gritty and energetic flatpicking style to WAGTAIL, as well as mandolin chops. Her solo CD "In the Earth's Fading Light", recorded at her home in Chelsea VT, was acclaimed "VT Album of the Year (2005)" by Central VT's largest daily newspaper, The Times Argus.
Carter Stowell has followed a path of learning and experimentation with master drummers and inspiring musicians in North Carolina and northern California, in Senegal, West Africa, in Cuba and in Vermont. With Wagtail, he fuses these influences in support of the songwriter's vision and craft.

5:00 - 7:00 pm: Left Eye Jump Band
The Left Eye Jump Band of Burlington serves up blues music laced with the authentic sounds of Chicago, Texas, New Orleans, California and the Mississippi Delta of the1940's, 50's and 60's. From gritty and haunting Delta slide guitar journeys to T-Bone Walker inspired jump-swing romps, Left Eye Jump delivers on the promise that the Blues speak to the very core of all people and are at the root of all modern music.
The Left Eye Jump mission is to grab a crowd with the high impact energy of a West Side Chicago Stomp, cool them down with a soul searching slow Blues ballad and then get everybody in motion with a Texas style funk or a New Orleans rumba boogie.
Guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader Dennis Willmott began listening to the blues in the 1950's with the acoustic sounds of songsters such as Leadbelly and Mance Lipscomb. In 1959 he became inspired to play after attending live performances by Lightning Hopkins, and the duo of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. By 1963 he began performing in the expanding coffee house scene in the Boston area presenting acoustic blues in the Piedmont tradition as well as the Delta and Texas twelve- bar style. Transitioning to the more urban style of electric blues in the early 1990's, Dennis began to network through the Vermont Blues Society jam sessions to find the musical contacts that ultimately led to this band.
The Left Eye Jump Blues Band featuring Dennis Willmott is returning by popular demand to make their third Chew Chew appearance.

5:00 - 7:00 pm: Banjo Dan & The Mid-nite Plowboys
Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys are one of the best-established, most respected acoustic bands in the Northeast. Founded in 1972, the band has established a sterling reputation for energy, musicianship, showmanship and right-on-the-money bluegrass entertainment.
The Plowboys have toured throughout the northeast, playing concerts, fairs, festivals, colleges and conventions. They have traveled internationally on several occasions, bringing their music to England, Italy and Canada and, in 1988, becoming the first American bluegrass band to tour the Soviet Union. In 2001 they returned to Russia for a two-week tour centered around a world folk music festival in Karelia, and extending to concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as Helskinki, Finland.
Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys launched their recording career with the acclaimed "Snowfall" album in 1974. Numerous subsequent recordings have continued to feature original material along with bluegrass interpretations of songs from a variety of sources. The 2002 CD, "Like a River," traces the Plowboys' career through a collection of 17 most-requested songs from previous recordings and includes a booklet full of old band photos and posters. The third of Banjo Dan's collections of original Vermont songs, "Mystery and Memories," was selected by the Times-Argus newspaper as "2006 top album of the year." The Plowboys continue to enjoy airplay on bluegrass and folk programs around the country and overseas.
The band is fronted by guitarist Alan "Big Al" Davis, an engaging vocalist, a fine songwriter, and an entertaining emcee. Mandolinist Willy Lindner also provides lead and harmony vocals, contributes some excellent original songs and tunes, and thrills audiences with his fiery instrumental work. The third original band member, "Banjo Dan" Lindner, provides drive and excitement with his dynamic work on the five-string, and contributes heavily to the repertoire with his compelling originals.
Acoustic string-bass player Jon Henry Drake, a North Dakota transplant, provides the clear tenor vocals and "high lonesome" harmonies so important to traditional bluegrass music. The newest Plowboy, Brattleboro's Phil Bloch, has brought an exciting new sound to the band over the past three years with his tasteful, innovative, and unpredictable stylings on the fiddle.
After three decades of touring, performing and recording, this band retains the freshness, spirit and enthusiasm of musicians who love what they're doing. We invite you to enjoy an evening of "New England Bluegrass at Its Best" with Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys.

1:00 pm & 3:00 pm: Matt Wright Group
Born in California and raised in Washington State, Matt Wright has been a jazz/blues/folk singer-songwriter and arranger for 17 years. He was schooled at Washington State University then moved to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan and formed his Michigan jazz quintet, "Fat Cow." He toured regularly throughout the upper midwest with the Michigan Tech Big Band under the direction of Mike Irish.
After playing and touring for five years, Matt moved to Vermont with the knowledge and hope to live his dream playing with some of the nation's finest musicians here in Vermont. Matt has shared the stage with such great vocalists, as Rebecca Paris, Inetta Harris, Amy Gidlof and Vibraphonist Gary Burton.
Matt's Philosophy to writing, arranging and performing focuses on the sometimes forgotten "Cool School" of Jazz, where vocalists are instruments.
He is joined on stage for his second Chew Chew performance by his arranger/mentor and pianist Dan Skea, drummer Gabriel Jarrett, bassist Robinson Morse, guitarist Nicholas Cassarino and Alto Saxophonist David Grippo.
2:00 pm & 4:00 pm: The Taryn Noelle Quartet
Luminous, Evocative, Poignant and Soulful - are words one may hear along the way to learning about this young vocalist, actor, dancer and choreographer. Originally from Toronto, Taryn has studied dance, theatre and voice with acclaimed New York and Vermont vocal teacher Bill Reed and at the renowned Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City. After years of playing leading roles in American Musical Theatre, she returned to Stowe to focus on her love of singing, playing on her considerable talent as a jazz vocalist and cabaret singer.
On yet a new path of artistic discovery, Taryn launched her debut CD "On My Way to You" in December of 2005. It's the culmination of all my first loves, in music. At the center of my heart beats the swoons, swells and swing of the 30's and 40's. Surrounding the edges are some of the great moments in blues, folk and rock. Signed, sealed and delivered, you get her spin on "the old meets the new." An old fashioned girl with a heart in generations gone by and an eye on all that lies ahead.
Her most recent release, "There Was A Boy...," was recorded live with her jazz trio during a flawless performance at Ye Olde England Inne in Stowe. "There Was A Boy..." was named "Best Album of 2006 By A Young Vermont Jazz Chanteuse" by Brent Hallenbeck of The Burlington Free Press. Art Edelstein, Arts Correspondent at the Barre Times-Argus, awarded Taryn a "Tammy" for "Best Singer of 2006." The "Tammy" is the paper's award for "albums and musicians whose performances are the best of the best for Vermont music in 2006."
Taryn brings her sultry voice, her commanding stage presence and her audience-melting smile to the Green Mountain Chew Chew Food & Music Festival Main Stage for the first time. Taryn Noelle is simply a terrific singer and entertainer.
